Riccardo Rossi is a great lover of music
and civil theathre, of words and sounds mixed together.
Hands tiniest movements, eyes, hair, similes, bodies, pictures of moments captured and fused in his shots.
Riccardo has a great passion for black and White and for the delicate sepia brown colour
which collects an old fashioned and a modern appearance at the same time.
His frames catch the soul of people.
I adapted a phrase from the songwriter
to photography:
why photographer? for fear,
for fear that people's memories get lost,
for fear that the memory of me just fade away
or just to be protected by a shoot,
gently gliding into an image and to be no longer recognizable, controllable, blackmailable...
BIOGRAPHY
Riccardo Rossi was born in Ferrara (Italy) in September 1966. He began to take photographs as a child with an SLR Olympus OM10. Having gained years of experience with film in a darkroom, he finally switched to digital in 2002 (although he still keeps a functioning darkroom). Currently he exclusively uses Nikon cameras. He specialises in photographing musical events, reportage, fashion portraits, nude-glamorous. However he is interested in all kinds of photographic experimentation. Having worked for several years in the organization and production of live events. He has collaborated with national and international artists in the creation of concert, images including pre and post concert back-stage portraits of the artists. He has also produced CD covers for singers and musical groups.
Creation of book covers for writers, and the relative portrait photos of the author, for the penultimate cover page.
He has long established experience working with male & female models in the creation of photographs for hard copy portfolios and
internet site use.
Realization of photo shoots for jewelry catalogs for the American, Caribbean, Maldives and India markets.Covers for the French
magazine Le-Magazine-Photos
In 2017 he founded a collaboration, forming an artistic duo, with professional model Kayla Nimphea.
